Position Summary
Coordinates and provides resolution of technical issues with internal and external customers via e-mail, salesforce, telephone, or onsite visits to provide an exceptional customer experience. Develops improved team processes.
Interacts with manufacturing, engineering, accounting and customer service personnel as well as other technical support and technical service team members. Supports the sales team and interacts with customers at multiple levels. Demonstrates high level of patience with upset customers. Good interpersonal and listening skills.
Responsibilities
Responsibilities may include but are not limited to the following:
- Identifies technical solutions to satisfy customer issues while maximizing Parkers commercial interest.
- Responds to inquiries from distributors, OEM customers and end users with a wide range of product and applications questions or requests.
- Liaisons with Manufacturing and Engineering departments on matters regarding product performance, product design and product quality. Provides input in new product design and development.
- Supports Customer Service Department in technical matters beyond the scope of the customer Service Representative function.
- Assists the training of customers, distributors, new Territory Managers, new Customer Service Representatives and new Application Engineers.
- Develops methods to capture technical knowledge and store it in a retrievable electronic format.
- Crosses over competitive offerings to closest Parker alternative.
Qualifications
- Bachelors Degree, preferably in a science or engineering discipline, preferred.
- Minimum 2 - 3 years of experience in technical service, customer support, or sales capacity.
- Excellent PC skills including Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
- Good organizational, analytical and interpersonal skills.
- Good telephone manner.
- Technical aptitude and experience for mechanical and hydraulic applications.
- Ability to read a technical drawing and hydraulic schematic.
- May include up to 20 travel for customer visits, training and personal development opportunities.
- Working knowledge of general Sales, Marketing and Business functions.
- Must be able to work on products installed on customer machines or vehicles.
