About the role:
About the role:VAT Compliance Specialist entails dealing with timely and accurate preparation of VAT returns and EC Sales Lists, performing VAT checks, and will be involved in compliance activities in the VAT area according to internal procedures, legal requirements and Policies (VAT coding and reporting). Monitor changing VAT requirements and regulations and advise ESSC teams with the implementation of legislative changes within the region

What are your responsibilities?
- Prepare VAT returns and EC Sales Lists (ECSL), ensuring compliance and accuracy.
- Implement quality checks and support VAT reporting automation
- Reconcile VAT payments and maintain accurate financial records in Blackline.
- Handle third-party VAT services and support VAT aspects of master data processes.
- Contribute to VAT Track and Trace solutions and process improvements.
- Provide advisory support to internal teams and act as an SME in finance projects.
- Deliver VAT training and support internal/external customer queries.
- Manage VAT transactions, ensure compliance, and report KPIs to stakeholders.
Qualifications
What makes you a good fit for this role?
- Higher education in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- 3-6 years of experience in accounting/finance, with a strong focus on VAT compliance
- Proficiency in VAT regulations and reporting requirements.
- Experience with VAT reconciliation, reporting tools, and automation solutions.
- Strong analytical skills with a process improvement mindset.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to collaborate across teams.
- Fluent English (B2 level or higher).
