About the role
As part of the Global IT Operations team, you’ll play a key role in strengthening and modernizing our core IT services across the region. You’ll work across systems, networks, cloud platforms, and automation tools to deliver secure, reliable, and high-quality services for a highly technical global workforce.
In this role, you’ll help improve operational maturity, enhance service quality, and foster a culture of continuous improvement and accountability. Joining during an exciting growth phase, you’ll contribute to stronger governance, greater trust, and a solid IT foundation as we expand our team and infrastructure.
You’ll support a talented global workforce of around 150 engineers and researchers and may act as the primary technical contact for your site or collaborate closely with peers in a shared-responsibility model.
What the role will involve
The responsibilities of your role will include the following:
- Align IT services with global standards, and ensure stable, reliable infrastructure.
- Resolve issues promptly and communicate clearly for a positive user experience.
- Take ownership of problems and improve systems, processes, and service quality.
- Collaborate effectively with colleagues across regions and share knowledge.
- Enhance security and resilience through disciplined patching and monitoring.
- Operate and maintain regional and global infrastructure services including servers, networks, virtualization platforms, storage systems, and cloud environments.
- Diagnose and resolve complex technical issues.
- Deploy, configure, and maintain Linux servers and containerized workloads.
- Support and improve network infrastructure, including routing, switching, firewalls, VPNs, and site-to-site connectivity.
- Automate infrastructure provisioning and management using tools such as Ansible, Terraform, Python, and Bash.
- Support cloud-based services, particularly AWS.
- Assist in the deployment and maintenance of developer tooling.
- Participate in incident response and serve as an escalation point for complex issues.
- Monitor system health and performance, using tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, and SNMP.
- Enhance infrastructure security through hardening, patching, and vulnerability remediation.
What you’ll bring
To succeed in this role, you’ll need the following experience and skills:
- Proficient in Linux system administration, Juniper JunOS, Cisco IOS, pfSense firewalls, and VMware vSphere.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Hands-on experience with networking, containerization, and cloud platforms.
- Eligible to obtain a security clearance (current clearance highly regarded).
- Familiar with automation tools and security best practices.
- Excellent communication and organizational abilities.
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field and 5+ years of experience in systems, network, or infrastructure engineering.
- Experience supporting technical or engineering teams.
