Job Description:
Job Role:
  • Issue, receive, and control precision tools, special tooling, calibrated equipment, and ground support equipment to technicians and mechanics, ensuring proper checkout/in procedures are followed.
  • Maintain accurate, real-time tool inventory records using electronic tool control systems, including tracking tool location, user, and condition.
  • Monitor and manage tool calibration cycles for all calibrated equipment, coordinating with vendors to ensure tools are sent out and returned on schedule with current certs. Quarantine out-of-cal or damaged tools immediately.
  • Perform daily, weekly, and monthly inventory audits and cycle counts of tool cribs, shadow boxes, and rotorcraft-specific tooling to prevent loss and ensure 100 accountability.
  • Inspect returned tools for damage, wear, or FOD potential. Clean, organize, and properly store all tools and equipment to maintain 5S standards.
  • Collaborate with maintenance supervisors, mechanics, and quality assurance to identify tooling needs, shortages, or trends in damaged/lost tools.
  • Maintain accurate documentation and records of tool issues, calibrations, repairs, and inventory adjustments in compliance with FAA, AS9110, and company policies.
  • Receive shipments of new tools and equipment. Verify against purchase orders, tag/etch, add to inventory system, and stock appropriately.
  • Foster a culture of safety and FOD prevention by enforcing tool control procedures and promoting accountability among team members.
  • Provide support for hazmat, consumables, and shop supplies inventory as needed.
Essential Functions and Competencies:

  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy, especially regarding serial numbers and calibration due dates.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint and Google Applications.
  • Experience with computerized maintenance/tool tracking software preferred.
  • Must have a positive attitude, enthusiasm, and commitment to supporting aviation safety through tool control.
Required Education and Experience:
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • 1+ years of experience in tool room, inventory control, warehouse, or aviation maintenance support required.
  • Strong understanding of tool control procedures, FOD prevention, and calibrated tool requirements in an aviation environment required.
  • Familiarity with precision measuring equipment, torque wrenches, and special helicopter/rotary wing tooling preferred.
  • Experience using electronic inventory/tracking programs required.
  • Ability to read and interpret tooling manuals, calibration certificates, and purchase orders required.
Physical Requirements:
  • Ability to lift, push, and pull up to 50lbs.
  • Ability to work in an aircraft hangar and tool room environment which at times may be hot, cold, dusty, or loud.
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, and reach for extended periods. Must be able to work at a computer station and move throughout the facility.
  • Visual acuity to read small serial numbers, tags, and calibration stickers.
