Job Summary:
The AOG Maintenance Technician plays a critical role in delivering responsive, high-quality mobile maintenance support to aircraft grounded at offsite locations. This field-based role is the front line of support for our clients during AOG events. The technician is responsible for troubleshooting, coordinating tooling and parts, and performing necessary repairs to return aircraft to service as efficiently and safely as possible. This role requires strong communication skills, a client-first mindset, and the ability to work independently in dynamic environments.
Day in the Life:
As an AOG Maintenance Technician at Jet Access, youll serve as the front line of support for aircraft grounded at offsite locations, delivering critical mobile maintenance services that get our clients back in the air safely and efficiently. Heres what your role encompasses:
Emergency Response & Field Operations
- Respond rapidly to AOG calls and mobile maintenance requests during assigned shifts, often with minimal advance notice
- Travel to various locations nationwide to provide on-site maintenance support for grounded aircraft
- Perform comprehensive troubleshooting and diagnostic procedures to identify mechanical, electrical, and avionics issues
- Execute necessary repairs and maintenance tasks in the field with precision, adhering to all safety protocols and regulatory requirements
- Operate effectively in diverse weather conditions and operational environments while maintaining unwavering safety standards
Client Relations & Communication Excellence
Serve as the primary point of contact and face of Jet Access during on-site maintenance events
Provide clear, professional communication to clients regarding repair progress, timelines, and any complications that arise
Coordinate closely with the AOG Supervisor for project status updates, tooling requirements, travel arrangements, and technical documentation
Maintain regular communication with internal departments including Maintenance Control, Parts, and Scheduling to ensure seamless service delivery
Represent Jet Accesss commitment to excellence and professionalism while working at client facilities and remote locations
Technical Documentation & Quality Assurance
Complete detailed work orders, repair logs, and compliance paperwork accurately and thoroughly to maintain regulatory compliance
Document all maintenance actions performed, parts used, and inspection findings in accordance with FAA regulations and company procedures
Maintain and manage assigned tools, equipment, and company vehicle to ensure readiness for immediate deployment
Coordinate parts procurement and logistics to minimize aircraft downtime and expedite return to service
Complete special projects and initiatives as needed, embracing opportunities to contribute to Jet Accesss continued growth and success

Core Schedule:
- Frequent travel on short notice required
- Variable travel schedule including nights, weekends, and holidays as needed
- Standard schedule of 40 hours per week
- Non-traveling hours worked on a standard shift at a base location
Required Skills & Experience:
- FAA Airframe & Powerplant (A&P) Certificate required
- Minimum 5 years of hands-on aircraft maintenance experience, preferably in corporate or general aviation environments
- Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot complex mechanical, electrical, and avionics systems under pressure
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting technical manuals, maintenance drawings, wiring diagrams, and service bulletins
- Experience with a variety of aircraft types and systems, including turbine and piston aircraft
- Strong understanding of FAA regulations (Parts 43, 91, 135) and maintenance documentation requirements
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with proven customer service abilities
- Valid drivers license with clean driving record and ability to operate company vehicles
- Current passport or ability to obtain one for potential international travel
- Willingness to travel on short notice and work variable shifts including nights, weekends, and holidays
- Physical ability to work in all weather conditions and confined spaces
- Must pass required background checks and pre-employment screening

Additional Qualities That Will Make You Successful:
- Experience in mobile or field maintenance operations with proven ability to work independently
- Background in AOG or emergency response maintenance with understanding of time-critical repair procedures
- Familiarity with popular business aircraft models (Citation, King Air, Gulfstream, etc.) and their systems
- Experience with avionics troubleshooting and basic repairs on modern flight management systems
- Knowledge of specialized tools and test equipment commonly used in field maintenance
- Previous experience coordinating with parts suppliers, logistics teams, and maintenance control centers
- Strong problem-solving mindset with ability to develop creative solutions using available resources
- Professional demeanor with ability to represent company interests while working at client facilities
- Experience with computerized maintenance tracking systems and electronic documentation
- Ability to mentor and provide guidance to less experienced technicians in field situations
- Track record of maintaining detailed and accurate maintenance records and work orders
- Adaptability to changing priorities and ability to manage multiple aircraft projects simultaneously
- Understanding of international maintenance standards and procedures for global operations
- Experience with composite materials, advanced avionics, and modern aircraft systems
