Job Description:
Job Role:
  • Perform disassembly, inspection, repair, overhaul, and reassembly of Bell helicopter dynamic components with specific expertise in teardown, inspection, repair, and build-up of transmissions, free wheel units, rotor hubs, and mast assemblies, in accordance with Bell OEM manuals, FAA regulations, and company procedures.
  • Conduct detailed dimensional inspections, NDT evaluations, and troubleshooting of rotary wing components to determine airworthiness and required repair actions. Use precision measuring equipment and specialized tooling to verify tolerances are within Bell specifications.
  • Execute track and balance preparation, shim/bearing fits, backlash checks, gear pattern development, and free wheel clutch inspections during overhaul of Bell 206, 407, 412, 429, and other Bell model components.
  • Complete in-process and final inspections, functional checks, and preservation of overhauled components. Ensure all work meets OEM standards and is ready for return-to-service.
  • Utilize Bell maintenance manuals, component maintenance manuals (CMM), service bulletins, and airworthiness directives to ensure compliance and accuracy during overhaul processes.
  • Maintain accurate maintenance records and documentation, including work performed, parts replaced, measurements recorded, and time/cycle traceability, in compliance with FAA Part 145, AS9110, and company policies.
  • Collaborate with engineering, quality assurance, and machine shop personnel to address complex component discrepancies, repair schemes, and non-conforming material.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest Bell technical publications, tooling updates, and industry best practices for component overhaul, taking part in professional development and factory training programs.
  • Foster a culture of safety and quality by adhering to established clean room protocols, FOD prevention, and safety procedures.

  • Must have a positive attitude, enthusiasm, and passion for precision rotary wing component work.
Required Education and Experience:
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Completion of an accredited aviation maintenance technician program preferred.
  • A valid FAA Airframe & Powerplant (A&P) License is preferred
  • 3+ years of experience overhauling helicopter dynamic components required. Must be familiar with teardown, inspection, repair, and build-up of transmissions, free wheel units, rotor hubs, and mast assemblies. Bell Helicopter experience strongly preferred.
  • Proven experience with disassembly, inspection, repair, and assembly of gearboxes, rotor heads, and drive train components required.
  • Familiarity with Bell component overhaul manuals, special tooling, and NDT processes required.
  • Experience following technical manuals and procedures accurately required.
  • Experience using electronic maintenance tracking programs required.
Physical Requirements:
  • Ability to lift, push, and pull up to 50lbs.
  • Ability to work in an aircraft component shop which at times may be hot, cold, or involve exposure to solvents, oils, and lubricants.
  • Ability to sit or stand at a workbench for extended periods performing detailed precision work.
  • Manual dexterity and visual acuity required for small parts, safety wire, and precision measurements.
  • Ability to work in clean room environments as required for certain components.
