Responsibilities
Key Accountabilities
- Oversees all phases of facilities modification, expansion, and construction projects from initial planning through completion
- Ensures projects outcomes are delivered on time, in scope, and on budget.
- Forecast and Report Project Budgetary Cash Flows on a Monthly basis.
- Identify & Report budgetary risks & opportunities in order to meet Company AOP.
- Know construction terminology and addendum.
- Ensure Supplier invoices are received, approved, and paid on time per contractual agreements.
- Prepares conceptual, and detailed drawings with use of AutoCAD.
- Create work statement and Purchase Request for architectural and engineering requirements.
- Reviews and approves architectural and engineering blueprints.
- Oversees construction activities, including participating in negotiations, working with contractors and site personnel, allocating resources, and obtaining required permits from municipal, state and government agencies.
- Review and approve contractor estimates, supplier invoices, construction field orders, and change orders.
- Serves as the primary point-of-contact for customers, contractors, architects, engineers, and other vendors.
- Develops project estimates, and tracks expenses to ensure budgetary compliance.
- Enforces adherence to the strict safety, quality, and OSHA requirements.
- Quickly and effectively resolves on-site issues to minimize delays or disruptions.
- Conducts field inspections.
- Maintains accurate and up-to-date project documentation.
- Enforces and ensures all warranty conditions are met.
- Understands construction procedures, materials, and trades.
- Proficient in industry-standard software, including AutoCAD, Bluebeam, Procore, and MS Project.
Qualifications
Requirements
- Bachelors degree with 2-4 years of relevant experience or Masters degree with up to 2 years of industry-specific relevant experience in construction management, facilities management, plant engineering or equivalent project experience.
- Strong computer skills/ proficiency required with Microsoft Project, Excel, PowerPoint and Word, MS Project
- Proficient AutoCAD skills
- Ability to integrate large multi-year projects and small near-term projects
- Basic understanding of construction methods
- Basic understanding of accounting principles
- Basic understanding of contracts and negotiations
- Basic business acumen to coordinate with Finance to status if the project is tracking to plan
- Excellent communication skills, both oral and written
- Schedule development by project appropriate to project scope
- Risk assessment and mitigation
- Individual project management and tracking as part of a more extensive portfolio
- Proven ability to balance multiple projects simultaneously (coordination, status and performance to plan)
- Cross-functional coordination and leadership to achieve project goals
- Demonstrated ability to foster business partnerships with internal customers
Preferred Qualifications
- PMP or other PMI Certification is a plus but not required
- Experience in Autodesk AEC package is a plus but not required
- Experience with Bluebeam is a plus but not required
