Position Summary
Operates convoluter and ensures quality product.
Install guide tube, die and lip seal per manufacturing specification
Check equipment set up to ensure capability (guards, oven exhaust blowers, air pressure, oven temperature, etc)
Verify water pressure on gauge inside chiller pump, check compression and enable water supply
Install materials on creel or into the rotating tube, set up vaccum, puller and die speed
Monitor tube through oven, vaccum tank, puller and counter
Check rotation speed, ID, OD, convolution per inch and wall thickness and record on SPC chart, cut tube as needed
Perform conductivity testing, straightening and rework as needed
Maintain work area in clean and orderly fashion, follow 5s practices
Know and practice all safety regulations and quality guidelines
Report production issues to Direct Lead
Perform work of an equal or lower classification
Qualifications
DEPARTMENT SPECIFIC/NON-ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

Notify management of unsafe conditions or practices, unlawful activities and activities which present unreasonable health and/or environmental risk. Report all safety and/or environmental incidents to management immediately.
Prevent excess waste of product and/or components by operating the equipment in an efficient manner.
Participate in peer-based teams (i.e., Natural High Performance Teams), and work with groups to initiate and implement programs such as Lean Manufacturing and 5-S.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
Education required: | High School diploma or GED |
Experience: | Production work preferred but not required. |
Preferred Skills/Qualifications: | Good verbal and interpersonal communication skills. Sound decision making skills. Good math, reading, writing skills. Be able to exercise continuous mental, visual, and audio attention. Ability to work well in a team environment.

The employee may be subject to:
Work in areas where safety equipment will be required (steel toe shoes, eye protection, hearing protection)
Standing is required for extended periods of time. Walking, pushing, pulling, reaching, bending, turning, twisting, squatting, and lifting is performed on a regular basis
Requires high degree of manual dexterity, which could be performed under restrictive conditions
Requires flexible hours and short notice for overtime.
